About the Akaal Gatka Cup

The Akaal Gatka Cup, presented by Akaal Sahai Okanagan Gatka Society, is a national tournament held in Kelowna, British Columbia, to celebrate and promote the traditional Sikh martial art of Gatka. This historic event, the first of its kind in the Okanagan, brings together young Gatka practitioners from across Canada to compete in a structured and respectful environment.

Founded in 2022, the Akaal Sahai Okanagan Gatka Society is a local non-profit dedicated to preserving and teaching Gatka. The Akaal Gatka Cup is a milestone for our organization and for the wider Gatka community in Canada. The tournament serves as a powerful platform for youth aged 8-16 to showcase their discipline, skill, and courage.

More than just a competition, the Akaal Gatka Cup marks the beginning of a movement to raise awareness of Gatka and inspire the next generation of martial artists. With the blessings of Ustaad Bhai Piara Singh Ji, we are dedicated to fostering a new generation of warriors and bringing this meaningful tradition to the world stage. The time has come, to awaken the warrior within.
